Contest winners and finalists since 2016

We know where to get the official Best Burger in Iowa for 2021: Bambino’s, the town of Ossian’s only restaurant. But what other restaurants have earned the Best Burger award?

Each year, anonymous judges visit 10 of the state’s proclaimed favorite places to get a burger and rank them on taste, doneness and presentation for the contest. The competition, sponsored by the Iowa Beef Industry Council and the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association, found this year’s top 10 contenders through an online vote with nearly 3,000 votes cast from 200 Iowa towns.

Bambino’s is a classic burger: 7 ounces of 80% lean, 20% fat all-beef patty on a Kwik Star bun with customizable toppings.

Bambino’s co-owner Sue Lienau understandably thinks theirs is tops, but urges burger lovers to check out those at other restaurants across the state.
